Our true love and the very beginnings of The Dorsett House, Inc. is the historic aspect of leather costuming through the ages. You will notice that the majority of our period products are based on historic designs but are not necessarily historically accurate in their appearance. There are two reasons for this. The first is that anything can be copied and there are just to many design possibilities to simply copy something someone else has created (even if they did create it 600 years ago). The second is cost. It would be wonderful to make truly accurate replicas but the cost of doing so makes all but a few of these products unaffordable to many of us. So, therefore, we make a product that is both affordable and, we hope, will add to the detail and appearance of your costume!
