Squire Baellin's Gambeson

With the outside sleeve lacing, a "jersey" cut and medium weight padding, this  gambeson has a real utility look and feel.  The vertical lines of the padding and the "V" cut neck make this an exceptional looking period garment with or without armour.  Add a longbelt and a pair of armguards for a simple look or go straight to the armour where the gambeson not only looks good but adds a bit of padding for the waist, chest and shoulders.  The sleeves are just long enough to cover the elbow but not the forearms and wrist.  Leaving those areas open for vambraces, wristbands and cuffs.
