Backhangers The hero always walks away from the burning rubble with his faithful blade strapped safely across his back. The two handed handle of a long sword sticking up above you shoulder is the finest look in fantasy, pure and simple! Our backhangers are just like a rifle sling. The top of the backhanger secures to the throat of your scabbard and the bottom secures to a point above the tip. This allows you to carry your sword over one shoulder (my personal favorite because it's easy on-easy off but still lets the handle/pommel stick up over my shoulder) or carry it diagonally across your back (which looks really good when your sword is over your cloak). The upper cinch frog will fit a scabbard throat of 2 1/2"-4" +/-. The lower frog is attached with threaded rivets and comes with two sizes of frog. One size is for swords that don't taper i.e. Claymores and the second, smaller frog is for swords that do taper. The following two photos show how the bottom frog can "flop" from the front of the main backhanger strap to the back. In the first photo the frog closest to the tip (lower frog) is on the back side of the main strap. This allows you to wear a longer sword or to wear your sword with a looser fit.
